Choose a spot on a comfortable sofa or your bed and surround it with soft pillows and cozy blankets.
Create a central area on a side table within easy arm’s reach. Stock it with all of your essentials: a large water bottle, lip balm, gentle lotion, your medications, the TV remote, and your phone charger.

4- Empower a “Gatekeeper” to Protect Your Energy
Your friends and family love you, and they will want to show their support by visiting. While their intentions are beautiful, a constant stream of visitors can be incredibly draining when you are trying to rest. It is completely okay, and absolutely necessary, to set boundaries to protect your limited energy.
Choose a single, trusted person—your spouse, a sibling, or a best friend—to be your “gatekeeper.” You can ask all of your other friends and family to please coordinate any potential visits through this one person. This empowers your gatekeeper to politely and lovingly tell people, “Thank you so much for wanting to visit. Today is a rest day, but can we schedule a short visit for you on Friday?” This takes the social and emotional burden of saying “no” off your shoulders.
5- Nourish Your Body with Comforting Foods
Your body needs good, nourishing fuel to do the hard work of healing. But you will likely not have the energy for complex meal preparation.
Focus on easy-to-digest foods. Soups, smoothies, and simple proteins can be great options.
Let people help. When a friend asks, “What can I do?” the answer is often, “Bring a meal.” Setting up a “meal train” is a fantastic and practical way for your community to show its support.
Undergoing cell therapy is a time of profound healing. By giving yourself radical permission to rest, you are not being passive; you are being an active and powerful partner in your own recovery.
